Morgan has been creating and executing engaging, strategic communications initiatives since 2013 for clients in a variety of industries. From financial services to a large-scale literary festival, to cannabis companies and ancillary businesses, she excels in managing integrated marketing and public relations campaigns. Since 2018, Morgan has focused her professional work on serving cannabis industry accounts and driving business development in the cannabis industry for Akrete. Examples of Morgan’s Akrete account work include Garden Remedies, Cannabis Facility Construction, Verdara Technologies and MGO. Morgan is also the editor of the AkreteCanna newsletter, a weekly roundup of key cannabis industry news for top industry stakeholders, through a Midwestern lens.
Morgan operates in the cannabis industry with a community and social equity mindset, with priority emphasis on ways the industry can be a path to ending persecution and oppression perpetuated by the War on Drugs. With experience in the Midwest and the Northeast at pinnacle times in the cannabis industry evolution, Morgan is particularly proud of her experience supporting political and investor communications and guiding multiple dispensaries as they launched and/or transitioned from medical to recreational sales.
Morgan earned a bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing, Visual Arts and Entrepreneurship from Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts. She is passionate about poetry, the arts, and community entrepreneurship, and supports several community organizations such as The Miseducation of HipHop. In her spare time, Morgan spends way too much time on Zillow and playing Animal Crossing. Morgan has also worked as a preschool teacher, a rock-climbing instructor, a FinTech salesperson, and a bread shop worker.
