Elevated national cannabis construction company from contractor to trusted advisor
Akrete was hired in December 2019 to expand national awareness for Cannabis Facility Construction (CFC) and its two affiliated brands, Mosaic Construction and Design Construction Concepts, in the commercial/multifamily/residential sectors. As a longstanding partner to one of the first multi-state operators (MSO) in medical cannabis to expand nationally, CFC sought to increase its visibility to other MSOs, and throughout the industry. They particularly wanted “backyard” visibility as Illinois legalized cannabis in January 2020, creating significant opportunity in their home market.
Akrete executed an integrated marketing and public relations campaign that included email marketing, creating all new corporate brochures, maintaining and updating their websites, and promoting the firm via advertising, sponsored content, earned media and sponsored events, podcasts and speaking opportunities.
CFC is now working with more than four MSOs and has completed approximately 80 projects in 12 states, a significant expansion from December 2020. They have been featured in national cannabis industry media as well as respected business media. One of our earliest results included a cover story on the front page of Crain’s Chicago Business, the leading business publication in Illinois. The feature story, Marijuana money wafts across the Illinois economy, was published on the front cover of the print edition with our client’s photo on an active jobsite, prompting an influx of business development communications. CFC has also been featured in Cannabis Business Executive, Benzinga, National Cannabis Industry Association, Marijuana Times, and multiple other cannabis trade publications, along with other podcasts and business publications.
