Launching a new company brand for cannabis extraction equipment manufacturer

Ability Engineering Technology (AET) is a well-established engineering, design and custom manufacturing firm that serves the advanced manufacturing industry. Known for their ability to design and produce highly customized machine parts, the company was ready to formalize their expansion into the cannabis industry and create a new company to serve manufacturers of extraction equipment.

Akrete partnered with Pepper Group, a design and marketing firm, to help AET brand and launch the newly created Verdara Technologies. We have been able to inform the branding process for their new company with industry intelligence and trend information, as well as experience with the end users of the machinery. Our initial services included branding strategic counsel, name option brainstorming, copywriting and web copy development.

Results

We presented multiple company names, logos and tag line options for AET executives and other stakeholders’ consideration. The final name and logo are pictured. We also consulted with AET on their strategic market positioning, created marketing collateral and developed website content. The brand officially launched to the public at MJBizCon in Toronto in September 2019, and its first customized extraction full system was launched at MJBizCon in Las Vegas in October 2021, with the Verdara logomark visible on the machine.

We continue working with Verdara behind the scenes to help them develop public positioning for the products their innovation team is developing, and providing counsel on public relations, branding and marketing.
