John has served at a variety of organizations including publicly-traded companies, PR firms, mission-driven not-for-profits, and market-leading private businesses. He specializes in counseling B2B companies in the professional and financial services sectors on thought leadership, messaging, media training, and content optimization.
John is excited to bring his client management, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, financial writing, media relations, and executive counsel skills to Akrete and its clients. He thrives in ambiguous environments by using data, anecdotal evidence, experience and intuition to craft innovative solutions that solve complex problems. Possessing a continuous improvement mindset, John is proud to bring his proactive, diligent, candid, collaborative, and engaging leadership style to the team.
Before joining Akrete, John served as Director of Financial Communications at Ferguson, a $30b NYSE-listed distributor to the non-residential and residential construction markets. He previously served in a variety of in-house positions with the CFP Board, the Financial Accounting Foundation (which oversees the FASB and the GASB), and Deloitte. John also spent considerable time throughout his career at various PR and marketing firms where he specialized in thought leadership, media relations, and stakeholder engagement.
John earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dickinson College in Political Science, with a minor in Sociology. He also participated in the European MBA program at Nyenrode Business University in Amsterdam before COVID-19 struck. He currently resides in Philadelphia’s Main Line with his two pre-teen children who keep him on his toes. John likes to golf, travel and volunteer his time as a Board Member of Historic Sugartown Inc. based in Malvern, PA.
